Horsetail is commonly used as a soothing diuretic. It reduces fluid build up around the ankles, wrists and mid sections of the body. It also reduces kidney stone formation through the plant's ability of increasing urine volume. It lessens bleeding from ulceration or other inflammation. Internally horsetail heals wounding and tissue.

It has the added benefit of strengthening hair, nails and skin. Horsetail fortifies bones damaged by injury or weak from osteoporosis.
Horsetail's highest potency, 50% of it's total flavonoid content is in early spring.

Use: as a tea, steep in hot water, strain and drink as needed.

Tammie, I was also wondering if you have had your blood pressure checked?  That could be the cause of the dizziness and the headaches.  Some things I might use for headache are ginko bilboa (increases circulation in the brain), ginger, feverfew, Oswego Tea.  As always, enter at your own risk, I am not a physician nor do I play one on TV, do your own due diligence and research these things for yourself.  Dizziness and headaches are nothing to fool around with if they are ongoing problems...a medical exam might well be in order.

Tammie - I would encourage you to read more about these plants online and seek out more information for yourself before using them.  Mountainrose herbs is one place to buy many things online.  I usually get most of my herbs and plant material from a local health food store.

Headaches and dizzy spells...my first inclination is to tell you to have your eyes checked.  My recent bout with dizziness and headaches was cleared right up with a new eyeglass prescription being filled.
